Payment Options
Tri-State Veterinary Clinic does not bill in order to maximize our time spent with patients and to minimize prices. Therefore, we ask that our customers pay at the time of appointment or service. We accept debit and credit (Visa, MasterCard, Discover), checks, and cash.

Cost of vaccines?
The cost of a vaccine appointment varies greatly depending on your pet’s age, what they are due for, and what vaccines they need to suit your lifestyle. They range anywhere from $75 to $180.

Cost of spays/neuters?
The cost of routine spays and neuters varies depending on if your pet is a cat or dog and your pet’s age and size.
Cats- $175 to $250
Dogs- $250-$350
Overweight, in heat, or older patients may cost more due to additional time and supplies needed. If you would like a more accurate quote please call to discuss or possibly set up a consultation. All spays over the age of 7 years old in most breeds and 5 years old in giant breeds will be required to set up a consultation prior to surgery to help us schedule them appropriately.

We typically recommend spaying or neutering your pet around 6-8 months however this can be different for each pet depending on their breed or personal history.
Cost of dental cleanings?
Routine dental cleanings start around $230 for cats and small dogs and go up to $340 for dogs greater than 80#
If your pet has dental disease and needs extractions and/or medications these are additional and depend on the severity of extractions and infection. If you would like a better quote, please set up an appointment so we can evaluate their dental health.
We do not require pre-anesthetic blood work but do start recommending it for all pets 6 years or older. This is typically around $120 and not included in the dental base price.

Do you see large animals/exotics?
No, we only see dogs and cats.
Can I get vaccines or medications without an exam?
A patient/doctor relationship is legally required, just like with people. We will not give routine vaccines without our doctor completing an annual physical exam. We are also unable to prescribe medications or prescription foods without a current exam, even for patients that we have seen before.
Are you accepting new clients?
Yes, we are accepting new clients.
How far out are your routine vaccine appointments?
While this changes, we would recommend calling two months before your pet’s vaccinations are due to get them scheduled. Our reminders currently start going out 3 months in advance. While we try our best to get everyone in before they are due, we cannot guarantee that we will have availability if you do not contact us to schedule an appointment when you receive your reminders. Please be sure to update addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses with us to ensure that you receive reminders.
What sort of diagnostics do you offer?
We have the ability to take radiographs, run a urinalysis, and run most blood work (complete blood count and basic chemistry panels) in-house as well as SNAP tests for heartworm, parvo, and FIV/FeLV. All fecal samples, histopaths, and more complex blood work are sent to outside laboratories. Further diagnostics such as ultrasounds, MRIs, eye pressure, and blood pressure are referred out to specialty clinics.
What is a drop off appointment?
On days that we do not have any appointments left, we will offer a drop off appointment depending on availability. We ask that you drop off your pet with us first thing in the morning and then we look at them between our anesthetic procedures and other appointments. Dropping off gives us the flexibility to fit them in and make sure that they receive the care they need when we have the opportunity. This is especially helpful to us when your pet needs diagnostics like blood work or x-rays. They still receive the same exam and care as they would if you were present.
Do you take walk-ins?
No, all appointments must be scheduled ahead of time. We do our best to fit everyone in but do not always have time or an available doctor. We are a one doctor clinic and do not have a doctor in the office every single day.
What is the process for euthanasia like?
This depends on what is best for you. We offer people the option to be present as well as drop their pet off with us. We work with a local crematory that offers mass or private cremation and are able to make paw prints at the clinic. If you choose to be present, we will make you an appointment. Once you are here, we typically place an IV catheter in one of their front legs and the doctor comes in shortly after to administer the euthanasia solution. The crematory will pick them up from us if you decide to use their services. We realize that this is a difficult decision and time and try to make this as smooth as possible for you.
Do you declaw cats?
We do offer this service. We will only do the front paws and any cats 3 years or older will be required to set up a consultation prior to surgery. All declaws are kept overnight so that we can keep bandages on them and make sure that all is going well. Their bandages are taken off in the morning and they will be ready to go home that afternoon as long as long as they are recovering normally.
Do you do international health certificates?
We do not offer international health certificates at this time.
